How to "Batch" Orders to Stay Duty-Free
The $100 limit is per Air Waybill (AWB), not your total monthly shopping. Use the Split & Ship method to avoid paying 40%+ in duties.

1
Split the Cart
Instead of one $250 checkout, do three separate checkouts on Amazon. Each order must be under $100 USD (FOB value).
Order A: $85 — Sneakers Order B: $90 — Skincare Order C: $75 — Kitchen Gadget -
2
Stagger the Shipments — The 48-Hour Rule
Crucial: Do not ship them all on the same day. If three packages arrive at your courier on the same flight, Customs may "manifest" them together as one $250 shipment. Wait 2 full days between each Amazon checkout to ensure they arrive on different flights.
-
3
Use "Ship as Available"
On Amazon, always select "Ship items as they become available" rather than "Group my items." This forces Amazon to send them in separate boxes with separate invoices — each with its own AWB.
-
4
Avoid the "Commercial Intent" Flag
Do not import more than 7 of the same item (e.g., 8 iPhone cases). Even if the total is $50, Customs will flag it as "Commercial Intent" and charge full duty regardless of the $100 rule.
