The ambitious program goes far beyond basic computer skills. The new curriculum will introduce students to coding, robotics, digital ethics, and artificial intelligence fundamentals.
"We cannot afford to have our students left behind in the fourth industrial revolution," the Minister of Education stated during the official launch. "By equipping them with these critical tech skills now, we are building a workforce that will attract global tech investments to Jamaica in the future."
To support the initiative, the government has partnered with several major international tech firms to upgrade school computer labs and provide extensive training for local teachers. The program is set to be fully integrated into the national curriculum by the start of the next academic year.
