A Lasting Legacy
So, if you're walking through downtown Kingston, you'll notice the Ministry of Labour building now carries a new name. And over in St. James, that brand-new Western Children's Hospital? Yep, that one's getting renamed too. Both will now proudly bear the name of our first female Prime Minister.
At the unveiling ceremony, politicians from both sides of the aisle came together to give Sister P her flowers. They talked about her deep love for the working class and how she broke down doors for women in politics. As the current Prime Minister put it, "She shattered the ultimate glass ceiling and paved the way for generations of women." Couldn't have said it better myself.
