Forecasters anticipate heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms, and strong gusty winds starting late Thursday evening and persisting throughout the weekend. The intense rainfall is expected to trigger flash flooding in gullies and rivers, and authorities are warning motorists to avoid attempting to cross flooded roadways.

"We are asking everyone to take this system seriously," a spokesperson for ODPEM stated. "Clear your drains, secure your roofs, and if you live near a riverbank, be prepared to move to higher ground at a moment's notice."

Small craft operators have also been advised to remain in safe harbor until the system completely passes.
